Overpaying for upside on young players. I guess teams can do this when you have a rookie qb.

That's way too much guaranteed to Watkins. They will not get the value from that contract. I bet he's gone after 2 years.

KC is going to have a stout offense, if the QB is as advertised. Wonder what Alex is thinking, going from a team that has all that new offense to one that can't get out of its own way.

Going to be a really popular team on Madden, though.

The LB is a bigger deal, imo. Chiefs biggest need and completely warping that market for anyone wanting to sign their LB who people have actually heard of.

Good for Hitchens.

He sure as hell wasn't going to get $9M a year from the Cowboys.

> Fires Arguably Elite GM because he made [read:bad] weird Cap Moves and Tried to Win

> New GM proceeds to do same things but trade picks for players on top of it

> Profit

Honestly...I'm not sure 'elite GM' is a sustainable concept. I'm pretty sure they're all just lawyers who like to gamble.

Or - owners who think they know everything about football.

I see no point with an example.

Thank you, Chiefs!

For saving the Rams from themselves regarding Watkins' potential contract. He's a good enough player, but not one that deserves a significant chunk of cap space.

I agree, Hitchens was a great signing.

If Watkins is healthy, it could be a great deal, but you guys still need some size at WR. Watkins is 6'1", 210, but having another taller guy to go with Kelce would be ideal. He specialized mostly in stretching the field but you have to think he's lost a step with the constant injuries.

Yeah, Reid is a master at finessing separation with WR's via scheme so that's going to be nice, but in isolation this contract is kind of bad. Wouldn't be surprised if Watkins puts up some big years, wouldn't be surprised if he completely flakes out either.

It all depends on if Mahomes has taken the next step. If he's improved his accuracy, this could be a great deal. If he tries to just be a gunslinger off the bat, there could be quite a few 3 and outs.

All boils down to his mechanics. To be as accurate as he was with them was remarkable, but if they aren't fixed, he's going to throw a lot more interceptions than he should be throwing and on top of a gunslinger mentality that can crash and burn. So far so good, but not out of the woods yet. Confident, but not arrogant about Mahomes. The interception he threw against Denver is a pretty good example. Long completion available with YAC possibilities, correct read is made, timing looked right, but the mechanics were off so the throw sailed badly into the safety.
