I expect Detroit to make the playoffs next season with Kennard and Bradley....

To me, it looks like they just gave him away due to his rising cost, which they were never going to pay.

I am sure they probably could have gotten more but liked Morris' contract. The Celtics still need a PF who can rebound.

- Morris can play the 3 or 4

Nope. He is is a 3 who can play the 2 due to his shooting. But asking him to play the 4 is inviting trouble. He can't rebound or defend at the four.

On Marcus Morris, I'm curious to see if his rebounding improves a bit when he's not paired with Drummond.
Like a late career Rasheed, he has a habit of falling in love with his 3 ball which makes for bad rebounding numbers for a 4. He will hustle his ass off for you though: he and Ish were the only Pistons that didn't slack off at points during games.

He is not quick enough to play most 2s off the dribble. He's best at the 3, but can do a stretch 4.

I get it... he's not the most physical player in the world... but he certainly can play some small ball 4.

In this era of the NBA: yes, he can do that.

Yuck. I get that they had to clear space to sign Hayward tho...

Bradley was their best defender by far and Marcus is just a 'meh' player with horrible efficient issues. But shit, they have Gordon Hayward at the end, so whatever.

Marcus Morris is a pretty physical defender but he's just not a good rebounder for whatever reason. I imagine Drummond had a big part in it. I don't remember him chucking him too many 3 balls. However, I do remember a lot of ISO/post ups from mid range. He was good at it but no really good enough to justify freezing the ball like that. Every once in a while he'd go off like this:

I'm pretty happy with this trade. Avery Bradley is a better version of KCP and we don't end up shackling ourselves to a long term KCP deal.

He isn't quite as big of a thug as Markief either. Not sure if that is good or bad for Boston. They could use another enforcer.

Maybe not a thug, but definitely a dog...
