My guess is they offered him a veteran's minimum deal and he said no so he is getting cut. Celek was a good Eagle and I am glad he got a ring here. But let's face it, his play had declined and he was not worth $5 mil a year.

They will probably draft a TE and also have Billy Brown on the practice squad who can fill the Trey Burton role.

I think they're under the cap now, so nothing more has to happen today. Maybe they will continue to look for a trade for Curry.

Celek leaving is expected. He was never great even in his prime. Burton and Ertz were far better. Losing Burton leavings us with a huge hole at TE now. But there was no way we could afford 8mil a year for him. Glad he got his payday. But 2 solid TE's is a huge need anymore, as we use them as both WR's and OL blocking when too much pressure gets in. Won't miss Celek, but losing both leaves us need both a TE draft pick "and" a vet pickup now. We are going to miss Burton. I hope Ertz can stay healthy.

cut just sounds harsh for a dude that has been with this team for so long.
