Notre Dame and Navy are moving to primetime.

CBS Sports announced today that the annual game between the old rivals will be played on Saturday Nov. 1 at 8 p.m. ET and be broadcast on CBS. The game will be played at FedEx Field, home of the Washington Redskins, in Landover, Maryland.

It will also be the third game of a triple-header on CBS that day, as all three service academies will be featured, as well as one giant cocktail party.

It's actually become a much more competitive series in the last 8 years or so. As an ND fan I'm excited to watch it in prime time as is the naval academy I would assume. I think this is a great idea. It's going to rate very well imo.

Did CBS used to have a 5:00 pm (8 eastern) kick off game? I just remember ABC's.

They usually have like 2 or 3 8:00pm kickoffs for the year. Bama/LSU the last 4-5 years has been in prime time. But they don't do it every week like ABC does, at least for the most part.

id prefer it to be an 11 am start but luckily it is a pretty weak schedule around the country

They need to play that game in Ireland again. Waking up to 8 AM football was fucking awesome. Penn State's doing it this year in a big game vs. UCF, but it won't as special as Notre Dame.

Last year Navy came frustratingly close to winning in South Bend (34-38) so I guess CBS thinks this year will be another good game.

Please no. There's nothing more annoying than Navy's ball control option.

bascially the SEC didn't have a game for prime time, CBS jumping on this one.
