Great Alaska Shootout will end after 2017

The men's tournament begins Nov. 22 with Cal Poly, Central Michigan, College of Charleston, CSU Bakersfield, Idaho, Sam Houston State, Santa Clara and host Alaska-Anchorage.

Man that sucks . That used to be the best preseason tourney ( along with the preseason NIT and Maui )

Monday, November 20th:
Quarterfinals:

Louisiana Lafayette vs. Iowa -- 12:00
South Dakota State vs. Wyoming -- 2:30
Richmond vs. UAB -- 5:00
Buffalo vs. Cincinnati -- 7:30

Really intriguing field, Iowa, Wyoming, UAB, Buffalo and Cincinnati all enter undefeated. Could have a semifinals of all undefeated teams. An Iowa/Cincinnati final would be extremely entertaining.

This is a game we really missed Baer. Ultimately they just didn't make shots the first half . Missed everything . Played much better the second half but ULL is no scrub and you can't get 20 points down

I get that, but this is still a team that you guys should have beaten. This is a costly loss though with not getting a chance at Wyoming(probably) and then Cincy. Iowa needed that game with Cincy. The rest of the OOC isn't great.

Yep that's the worst part. Hopefully they regroup and win the next 2 then this loss means no more slip ups in OOC. Gotta win at VT and at ISU now.

Yeah those 2 are crucial. But even then I'm not sure either of them are NCAA tournament caliber, at least based on how they've played thus far. I think ISU might be the worst team in the Big 12 this season.

Yep that's why you can't afford anymore bad losses. I think there will be 5-6 OOC games vs Top 100 teajs but none vs Top 60 teams now

I think VT is probably a lock to finish in the top 100 of the RPI, but I think Colorado and ISU may finish outside of that. ISU is projected to finish 13-17(obviously take with a grain of salt) and Colorado is projected to finish 17-13, which would find themselves inside the top 100 if that were the case. But I still think both could have trouble even making the NIT. Also going against you guys is the likelihood that you'll have 5 games against 300+ competition.

I'm still on board with it actually . This team is young even with the experience . Obviously I am leaning heavily on the schedule in my opinion they'll finish very well.

Iowa trailing at the half to South Dakota State. This would be worse than the loss to ULL. I think they win, but they haven't played good going back to the Grambling game.

Here's an awful stat. With today's loss Iowa is now 7-17 the last 5 years in tournament atyoe basketball ( OOC/B10/postseason ). That's not bad. It's awful
