Mac wouldn't throw Odubel under the bus at the press conference. "He's an emotional guy and he just wanted to score." Oh, great!

He also said the Phillies don't make any more mistakes than any other team. What a joke!

Serious post with zero troll implications- What the hell happened to Neris. I remember watching him last year/2 years ago and the dude was absolutely filthy. If I recall correctly, he had more electric stuff than 94 and seemingly flat.

No one has a clue. He's lost it. Must be bad women or bad food.

Man he had electric stuff. His split was up there in terms of top pitches in baseball the last time I saw him throw, and now all of his stuff seems slower and flatter. All of the balls hit off of him in the 9th were pounded, but then when he got swings and misses, it looked like that movement was back.

You're talking 2016. He was 2.58. I think a AAA rehab is in order for him and a few others on the Phillies.

It's a shame. I love a good BP pitcher who comes in with filthy stuff and closes the door, and Neris seemed like one of those guys.

I think most of it is mental.

You are a great FAN! Enjoy the day!

We didn't get a shutout but you gotta like the 4-hit, 7-inning Nola QS. And nothing off relievers Neshek and Garcia.

Had to talk a cop out of a parking ticket in front of the park and wimpingly agreed to leave as rudely ordered. But, then I got in for $10 (ticket girl thought I looked homeless, I guess) so treated myself to Bull's pulled pork, a giant turkey leg, and 32 oz. of suds. :thumb:

Great game for you to catch. Nola looked very solid for those 7 innings, flashes of what I think he really can be

I think the Phils have a solid group of young starters who will bust out as the season moves along. Wishful thinking but we already see some improvement in the last few weeks despite relievers blowing games. Quite a few Cards fans in the park today. Just curious, Jwolt, do you have a Philly connection?

Yeah I've been a huge fan of Nola since he got drafted, have him in about 3 fantasy leagues as well.

But no real connections really. Step family in Delaware who are huge Philly fans but other than that, not a whole lot.

Nola's LSU stats were exceptional. 30-6, 2.09, 345 Ks, 52 walks. No wonder Phils got him in the first round.

Herrera was picked off 3rd base today. When will he learn the bases?
