Can Louis C.K. hold on and win with a 5 shot lead at Doral?

He has been playing great for 3 rounds but there is lots of water here.

I say the nerves get to Louis today. I say he loses or gets tied for the lead but may not lose the tournament.

He coughed it up, but didn't wither away...he hung around until the end at least.

Ya, he blew Torrey Pines and Doral but I wouldn't mind those two second-place checks he got for them.

You and me both!!!

You still have to earn it but that's my biggest pet peeve with the tour money breakdown...top 5 make too much...you can make the cut and suck into the bottom feeders and barely pay expenses...you lost worst than 2nd place, but you both still lost.

Winners share stays the same, but I'd shift some the top 10 purse money to the bottom.

Agreed. I heard this weekend that DeJonge has won 11 million dollars in his career but has never won. There is no urgency to win anymore.

Yep...Brett Quigley jumps out...lot of multi-millionaires on tour that have never won or only have 1 win...You think Sergio REALLY cares if he wins a major or not?

The winners 2 yr exemption, and ability to set your own schedule is the modern day dangling carrot.

Yes, that is huge; or at least it would be for me, to know that I had a job for the next two years no matter how poorly I played.

My brother-n-law used to play out of the same CC as Tim Petrovic down in Tampa area...a regular kinda guy, frequently seen around the clubhouse, met him a few times myself...pretty much a journeyman player for a decade...then he caught fire...eventually got a win and that got him into more events, invitationals, etc...made like $7-8 mil in a 4 yr period...now over $12 mil for his career...set for life.

That win got him on the cash grab tour as well I think.

I met his caddy in Hawaii several years ago at a friend's house.

Had a similar conversation about Rickie Fowler a while back. He has 1 PGA Tour win and $15 million dollars in winnings since he came out of college in 2009.

That is crazy.

Oh yeah, I had looked it up at the time and don't quote me, but I think his endorsement deals were worth almost double his winnings.

And to think I wasted all my time as a kid playing hockey and football :L

Fowler may be the most over-rated golfer on tour. His popularity with the young kids with the absurd clothingline is what makes him.

He was in the hunt for 3 of the 4 majors last year if I remember correctly. He does seem to screw the pooch on Sunday a lot though. Maybe he is related to Sergio? :noidea:

There's a lot of young talent out there now...the revamped swing is better and he's shown some bright spots. I'm not expecting him to win 8-10 times...but, he's got a following and cashes in off the course very well.

Yep. he failed to close in any of them; thus my assessment of him.
