I felt we needed a thread where we can post things that is happening in camp.
your 2nd to last statement is where it hurts. Depth. We had a nice 1-2 punch with Bryant and then throw in Procise to mix it up a little. Now we have 1 experience guy and a in Procise who is still learning and 2 freshmen. It's August and you know what that means ... academic hammer fall time at ND. I am kind of done with G. Bryant. He's yet to live up to his 5* billing and now drama regarding weed and grades.
I personally think Procise will be better because he's bigger, faster and isn't afraid to stick his foot down and go north-south, something Bryant has struggled with a bit. The issue once again is depth. We'll have 2 true freshmen as the #3 option. Here's hoping Folston and Procise stay healthy.
Losing Bryant hurts. He has a ton of potential, and though hasn't lived up to his potential, he has shown some glimpses of being really dangerous.
This is happened every year under Kelly.
it has but it has nothing to do with kelly. These players know what they are getting into when they pick ND. Its about Education 1st then football. Now maybe kelly is recruiting kids that shouldn't be at ND yes but he still has to get top recruits and hope they can stay active.Losing Bryant hurts. I agree, this significantly hurts our depth at RB. I really thought he was our top home run potential player. I hope he sticks around, but it's not looking good (although I don't think you can transfer if you're not in good academic standing).
Anyway, I just hope that this is the extent of the pre-season surprises.
I think his gpa is too low to play but not so low as to be suspended. His dad said he needed a B+ in a class but got a B- that probably bumped his cumulative below an acceptable level. So he remains on scholarship but can't play. He was already down 4 games for weed.Is it an Academic issue? I read something saying that he will remain under scholarship and continue to practice with the team.
Can you do that with an Academic violation?
