Because people have religious freedom and should be allowed to exercise prejudice if they chose.

It's only against the law for the government to be prejudice(should be by the constitution, the commerce clause loophole is such bullshit). When they make these other laws, they infringe on peoples religious rights.

And for the record - I have no problem with people being gay, getting married or adopting kids. I also have no problem with people wanting to excersize their religous beliefs either.

I have no problem with people being religious but I also have an issue with people not doing their jobs because of it.
You own your own business and do this that's your deal. If you take a job with government funding I don't see how you can then inact your religion.
