10 mil for Maxwell is insane. But in the open market with such a need for a physical corner like Maxwell it's understandable to see teams trying to overpay.

I agree. 10 per is just insane. Maybe I'm seeing caps pre current CBA, but even with the extra money it seems like there are more 10 mil per players than there should be. If Max can get $10 mil per, good for him, glad Seattle isn't paying it.

It's wage inflation to coincide with cap inflation. With the cap number going up, you're going to start seeing player salaries go up, unless they change the rules to allow an actual 12th man on the field.

Well he's gone. 10 mill is too much. Hate to see him go but teams are apparently lining up to overpay him.

Hard to believe that teams would go 10 million on a cb that was second fiddle on his current team. Some of these guesses may be inflated IMO. Still he'll get plenty.

Atlanta is going to be pretty stacked themselves if they end up with him. Maxwell and Trufant is a pretty tough 1-2 punch at corner. I thought he was top 10 since he was a starter here and he's going to command top 10 money. This is one of those off seasons that's going to readjust what the pay scales are for a lot position because there's a ton of big names that are going to be available.

Hasta Lavista, Baby! He's a product of our system... He will be an underachiever if he leaves the Hawks imo... but hey, he'll get his cash...

Disagree totally. Simon is an athletic freak. How does he look in our system after 2 years.
I have been on Maxie's soapbox for a year and a half even though I know the business end of this game means he will probably go.

Simon got smoked in the division round and the SB. 4 flipping TD's allowed. Good luck with that.
Max gets $8 million per year minimum cuz he is that good!

I think Maxwell is a high quality starter and will be tough to replace. Simon is a good potential guy but very inconsistent from game to game. Couple that with iffy availability of Lane to start the season, and the CB position could be significantly weaker going into '15 than it has been if Maxwell leaves. Bringing Thurmond back to play in the slot would help.

I didn't think there was much chance for us to retain him. Too many other players that we need to keep.

I think Simon looked pretty good early in the season by he clearly was struggling by the end of the season.

Well, it wasn't like Maxwell was a stud for his first 2 seasons, and Simon missed the first 25 games of those 2 seasons (including playoffs).

And even if he leaves, considering in the last couple off-seasons we've extended or re-signed Bennett, Avril, Wright, Sherman, Thomas, Chancellor, and hopefully Wilson & Wagner, I think we have to agree the team has done an amazing job keeping the young core together.

Without question. We can't keep everyone. The fact that we have kept so many key players, is astonishing to me.

I am probably wrong, but I remember it differently. Once Browner was unavailable, I thought Max played pretty good as a youngster, much better than Simon has shown so far. He certainly took Browners job away and I don't remember Max ever giving up 2 TD's in a game or 10 passes either.

Actually Thurmond took Browners job, then Max got it from him when he got suspended.

I don't, nor I have, ever felt Simon was any good personally... He's not going to be the replacement... I feel we'll find another replacement...
