I can't find confirmation on NFL.Com, CSNNE, ESPN.........you have to give us a link or a source or something.

I was watching NFL Live. I typed it exactly how they showed it on the show. It re-airs at 11:30pm PST tonight

As of 7:30 AM this morning 3/17/2017 Malcolm Butler has neither agreed to a contract with the Saint or signed the 1st Round Tender contract with NE Patriots. No one is sure what's going on.

There are several scenarios.......

1. The Saints have made a satisfactory offer to Butler and are now negotiating the final trade parameters that will allow Butler to sign the tender and be traded to the Saints.

2. The Saints have made an official offer and Butler has accepted the offer. The Patriots have decided to match the offer and Butler will have new multi-year contract with the Patriots.

3. The Saints and Butler could not come to an agreements on terms that would allow the Saints and Pats to make a deal. Butler is still an unrestricted free agent.

4. The Saints and Pats have hit a snag on the picks that the Saints will give back to the Patriots and those details are holding up the process. Either the Saints or Patriots want to change the original trade.

5. Butler has decided to sign the tender and play for $3.91M with Patriots and take the chance that he not be injured and enter free agency as an unrestricted free agent next year. Only after the Patriots agree not to franchise him.

Depending on what Sports Network you watch, everyone has a different opinion as to what is actually happening. As the commentator on NESN said this morning........."No one other than the Saints, Patriots and Butler know for sure what is taking place. The rest of us will just have to wait."

Just heard a very interesting twist...........

It appears that the Saints and Malcolm Butler are continuing to negotiate. Some guy named Underhill is a media expert on the Saints and is very close to everything that they do. He thinks that the negotiations may be a very long and drawn out process........

The interesting twist........The Patriots will not be responding favorably to a "long and drawn out process." the thought is that the negotiations could drag beyond the draft and the picks the Patriots would get would be in 2018.
Needless to say, that ain't gonna fly with BB.
