Chips sitting on a goldmine of buyouts from Phily and SF. I believe if he takes another coaching job, the buyouts get dropped substantially.
The issue I have with this isn’t about recruiting. Chip will fit right in with the tSEC player buying culture and street agents & parents will be lining up to collect the $$$ he’ll be throwing at them. It will right back to Fulmer cup playoffs with his rosters of drug addicts and felons. Most Tenn fans and boosters are so desperate for revelancy, I sure they won’t give a rip about the weeekly arrests and athletically gifted tards he justifies being on a college campus. He’s good there till the NCAA comes knocking again. And they will.

It’s gonna be with his system which got ass raped any time he faced a team with Front 7s the size of typical tSEC squad and Chips completely asleep at the wheel when it comes to defense. I think this is going to be an experiment that ends badly for Tenn, if they go with him. He didn’t do dick in the NFL.

It seems weird that Butch Jones did so well as the head coach of Central Michigan for 3 years, and then Cincinnati for 3 years, yet failed at Tennessee.

In both of those first two jobs, Jones followed Brian Kelly..... so perhaps Jones was just riding the coattails of Kelly's success at both Central Michigan and Cincinnati?
