Bashaud Breeland's three-year, $24 million contract with the Panthers has been voided after he failed his physical, sending him back to free agency.
This is Ryan Grant all over again. Breeland struck a deal with Carolina on Tuesday but flunked his physical due to a "non-football injury." The 26-year-old had been due $9.5 million in guaranteed money including an $8.5 million signing bonus, but now it's back to the drawing board. Breeland was slated to replace Daryl Worley, who the Panthers traded to Philadelphia last week. Carolina will now look elsewhere in its search for a cornerback to start opposite James Bradberry.
