Exactly. Unless I am just wildly wrong about the picks they're getting, there's no way this can end well for the Chiefs. Just looking at Chiefs first round picks, you'd have to go all the way back to Eric Berry to find one as good as Peters based on tangible production.
And honestly, if you account for health, you may have to go all the way back towards Tony Gonzalez (1997) and Derrick Thomas (1989).

Aren't we all. I was mad when I saw Quinn, but could stay away from the cliff at least. Now? Nah, may need to take a break with what this trade represents. Not a fair weather guy but I am crying uncle on this.

WTF is wrong with you? You didn't just trade Joe Montana or Lawrence Taylor or some all time ethereal player in their prime....you traded a fuckhead guy who gets some turnovers and might be a top 15 cornerback in football. You probably lost the deal (depending on said picks) but this ain't the end of the world deal or something.

I just ain't seeing that.

Bit of a ? move here. Peters was such a good player for the Chiefs for a long time. Draft picks seem to be the return, that doesn't seem to be enough to cover the loss of Peters.

Has any reputable reporter said how many draft picks the Chiefs got? I think that has to be evaluated here before we know the winner of this deal.

SI's hot take is that its basically Andy Reid giving up on Marcus Peters

If it's anything less than 2 first round picks (impossible for a CB) then it's a failure. Not that many 1st round picks are even legit starter, let alone good, let alone all-pro level.

I don't see the big deal. Players that are head cases often get traded and usual for less then what they would be worth if they weren't a problem child.

I very easily see them securing the nucleus (Peters, Donald, Goff, and Gurley) to contract extensions. Rams have 40 million in salary cap this year, 85 million in salary cap in 2019 and 153 million in salary cap space in 2020.

Like I said they have a couple years. Those #s are before any of these deals get done. Chances are three of the four, if not all four will be top 1-5 at their positions. They have 5 WRs who will be commanding money. At least two DLs. Right now they have a lot of players on some really team friendly deals.

I'm not saying it won't happen. But very rarely can you find a team paying four players top position $. If you do you see the drop off on 2nd/3rd string depth aka Seattle.

These new big guarenteed contracts are going to hurt teams. We'll se how bad after Cousin signs his deal. SF was lucky. They had huge cap space and were able to front load JGs contract. Not every competitive team will have that luxury.

Good luck and keep kicking the Seahawks ass.

Yeah, the pieces they'd lose off the top of my head would be guys like Tavon Austin and maybe someone like Brockers or even Quinn.

But they can secure the important pieces.
Tavon would not be a loss. They have Watkins, Faraoh, Kupp and Woods plus a hanful of rookies and PS guys.Brockers and Quinn would be bigger losses.

Sorry guys, all pro CB under control for 3 more years not worth a 1st round pick. Got to go back to coloring with my fingerpaint. See you at Len Dawson Elementary.
