My sources say it's a done deal. I can not stand Kiffin but it is what it is. I can only hope he is successful because winning changes a lot of things. Problem is nothing was really broke so he has a challenge on his hands and we know how past challenges have turned out for him~RTR!!!

The guy is one of the best recruiters in the country. Bama already player rich gets even richer.

Kiffin missing on recruits is a rarity. Even Saban has missed more often than Kiffin and that is saying something.

Talent evaluation is Kiffin's specialty. That is why they brought him in. And he will be fine at the OC position.

With Saban keeping him under control this will be a positive for the future of Kiffin and the Tide wont miss a beat.

Now, if he were to be chosen as the successor of Saban in a few years..... Then we have a problem. But under Saban there is zero to worry about here.

I'm not sure that's true. While I feel like he did a pretty good job at Tenn, he was let go and USC and one of the reasons was recruiting. He was going after a lot of junior college guys and other lower level recruits.

That said, he's a hell of a pick up as an OC.

that is sad. Kiffen and Petrino hired in the same week. Just reinforcing that is about the student athletes.

No link...yet! I would be shocked if he is not named based on where and who I heard it from but I guess you never know until it's announced. Obviously sticking neck out some on this one. Hope it doesn't get cut off!

But your "sources" said it's a "done deal." :noidea: We had faith in you, man.

I think its a good move. He is a great recruiter and good offensive mind. Just not a good HC

How well did Kiffin recruit out of state and didn't he have a drop-off in recruiting the last couple of seasons?

I'm really not sure if it's too difficult to recruit at schools like USC and Tennessee. At any rate, Alabama recruiting probably won't sway either way.

Nice one.

It's now like the NFL: heads roll often, but they don't roll very far.

At least Jurich/L'ville had the balls to come right out and say winning is all that matters, so we took the best coach available.

Its pretty amazing. USC total offense:
2010: #4 is Pac (10 teams)
2011: #4 (12 teams)
2012: #5
2013: #10 (fired)

Has the best talent in the conference and never finished higher than #4, but he is a great offensive mind.
