Other 2019 bigtime FA’s:

KD
Melo (will be 35)
Deandre
Klay
Kemba

Big fat no on Melo and De'Andre. They could also choose to force the issue on some RFAs in 2019 if they wish (KAT, Porzingis, Myles Turner).

Would LAL consider IT on a one year deal for big $ in 2018 if they plan on striking FA in 2019?

I can't believe a team would throw a max contract at him.

Would depend on the other options for a similar one year deal and how well IT fits this year. I wouldn't bet on it, but it could be an option.

Porzingis could be the one most likely to want out of his situation, even though he said he loves NYK

I think it all depends on how he plays and what role he's willing to accept. If plays well, seems to fit in and understands his role, I don't see why not.

If the Lakers do end up having to wait until 2019, a 1 year deal could benefit both the Lakers and IT.

He could be paid more money than he's likely to be offered by anyone else and have another year to earn back some of the money he's lost.

It would give the Lakers an all star caliber veteran for the youngsters to learn from while saving their cap space for 2019.

Win/win, imo.

He's gonna be a tough guy to get a grip on, talk in this town already is how you can max him out when he simply cannot stay on the court, and he is constantly complaining about being tired, etc.

If they don't max him, someone else will. Time for a trade if there are doubts.

Well, I agree on the Lebron part....but I guess my thing is that I see them being the same players. JC comes off the bench and gets buckets. Nance was an energy guy for us that got his stuff off the pick and roll. They definitely benefit from playing with Lebron, but I don't see much difference in their roles in Cleveland

The roles are the same but they are in better position to succeed now. JC isn't required to create as much and can take more of a spot up role at times and Nance is being encouraged to create more which has boosted his confidence and is really starting to put the league on notice with his mid-range game.

Funny how things work out, I saw Nance shoot that mid-range jumper with the Lakers but he just didn't attempt it as often.
