Should we take a flyer?

Do we really even need him?

I'd say no, especially since they already traded for Span. If they brought Miller in to play second base so Gordon could go back to CF, I wouldn't have an issue with it, but it just makes the Span trade useless. Also, Miller has been playing almost exclusively at first base this season, and isn't gonna bring much to the offense either.

He's be the worst player on our team so why would we bring him in?

I was always a fan of him at the plate but he just simply doesn't have a position. Its tough to fathom a utility guy that cant play defense

I think he went the opposite route of Dustin Ackley, Ackley concentrated on his defense and Miller did just offense. Not saying he could've been a good defensive player but he was kind of jerked around with the Mariners with all the position switches because Ackley, Seager and Taylor.

If Taylor didn't get hurt in the 2015 Spring Training, it would have been interesting to see how Miller and Taylor both panned out in Seattle. Taylor maybe still is the SS now and maybe Miller catches on at a different position sooner.

True, but I just think it was more of how dumb the organization was with no having any foresight. At least when Seager caught on fire in the minors they moved him from 2B to 3B. Miller and Taylor we're neck and neck at SS, so the Mariners should have chose which one then moved the other (Miller) so he established a position. Much like they gave an offseason for Gordon to become a CF. Maybe it's just me but I don't like young guys being a DH nor being a super utility guy.

Again, not saying he could have ever became some defensive stud but he kind of got a raw deal here then in Tampa they kind of kept him in the Ben Zobrist type role.

Take a flyer? Sure. Pay him a minimum and send him to Tacoma. Depth never hurts....unless it's Taylor Motter.
