From what I remember, the rule is you can't use any electronic means to steal them. For instance, a guy on 2nd base trying to steal signs from the catcher is legal, a guy with a zoom lens and a 2 way radio in the bullpen isn't

Crying about stealing signs is pretty g a y generally speaking. But if they are using electronic devices to help them steal signs, then I'd say that is cheating.

The only rules against sign stealing are a 1961 rule that bans the use of a “mechanical device” for the purposes of sign stealing, and then there’s a line from a memo written in 2000 by Sandy Alderson that states that “electronic equipment… may not be used for the purpose of stealing signs or conveying information designed to give a club an advantage.”
