Gibson and Brock were complete asses to the fans though. My uncle who was in the sport world got my cousin on the field at a Mets game to meet his idol Cardinals. gibson and Brock both went straight to security and started yelling about little punk kids being on the field.

You must have lost an AVI bet with that Smelly Burnt Foot fellow.

Like was said earlier McLain is a special kind of punk.

and yes, @SlinkyRedfoot and his Indians kicked my ass. 2 weeks of telling the world I love peckers.

Meh. 35 starts, 2 CG.

Gimme Guidry's 1978. 35 starts, 16!! CG

3-0 with a 1.78 ERA against Boston (2 CG), including the win in game 163.

Ridiculous he didn't win MVP that year.

What's the standout stats? The lack of no decisions?

Scherzer only has two right now. And better numbers across the board.

2 ND
sub 3.00 ERA

2012 lee went 6-9 with 3.16 era 30 starts:suds:

Pitchers have their own MVP. I prefer the MVP going to a position player(so exclude DH's too)

Co-sign.

Though I think there are rare occasions where a pitcher can win the MVP. Like when there is no clear position player to win it, THEN you start looking at pitchers. But if there is a batter who is in contention, he automatically beats out the pitcher.

1978 was definitely one of those rare occasions. Gid went 25-3 for a team that won 99 games and tied for the AL East. Then he went ahead and won the one game playoff, knocking the eventual MVP completely out of the post-season.

Even in 1978, Rice was only a .269 hitter outside of the Fens.

Guidry's WAR was 9.6, Rice's 7.6
