Game Thread: BIG10 Championship: Penn State Vs Wisconsin

With the Huskies blow out Friday night, it will be tougher to make a spot in the CFP. Alternately, I had been hoping for a worthy Rose bowl opponent. Tonight's 32-17 win over WI would be helpful. Drink up!

Win or lose, this team has given us a hell of a ride and put us back where we belong. This incoming class and the one being assembled for 2018 take us over the top and give us the depth/overall talent to sustain this thing for a while. Like I said the day we hired JFF, sit back and enjoy the ride, its just getting started.

I'd like the Orange over the Cotton, but think we get Rose if we win and don't get playoff.

Let's do this Lions, lock in and destroy the Badgers....we need a convincing win to have playoff shot

I'm still trying to figure out why Wisconsin is ranked so high. They have 2 wins against top 10 teams (at the time), but both of those teams are no longer ranked in the top 20. The other 2 currently ranked teams they played were losses.

They didn't lose nearly as bad against winsonsin as we did and I truly feel style points due count to the playoff committee.

Only chance we got of joining you Buckeyes in playoffs is beating Badgers 60-0. With their D I don't see that happening.

It'll be interesting to see who the committee selects tomorrow. If Ohio State does get in they're kinda saying a conference crown doesn't hold alotta weight. The only things the Buckeyes have going for them is they're currently # 2 in the FPI rankings & those 3 W's over top 10 teams along w/ a 4-1 record against top 25 teams. I'm looking forward to the CFB action today.

For sure that is a better resume than 1 W (soon to be 2) against top 10 teams and a conference championship. If Penn State makes it in, it won't be in place of the Buckeyes.

Wow, old timer, I watched those guys play. Way back then, we got no respect in the rankings. I recall defensive back Neil Smith who had loads of interceptions but being a light weight, never got the call from the NFL he dreamed about. 11-0, twice in row, I believe it was.

Yep 1968 I was 12 had read about Ted Kwalick in Street & Smith's I believe. Parents had moved us from Philly to MD in 1963. Became a fan and decided then that it was the college I would want to go to. 11-0 in 68 and 69. We were an eastern football team and therefore not good enough for Natl Title consideration. Yep Neal Smith. Good times.

Right now it is not who but what. They are out scheming us on both sides of the ball. That was okay last week when we held the opponents to field goals. I think we will make adjustments but what will the score be when they are made? Badgers look much more physical right now.
