Just need to avoid the sweep and we're good.

Mon: Iwakuma vs Darvish
Tue: Paxton vs Hamels
Wed: Hernandez vs Perez

2-1 would be good for me

Sweep would be nice, but it's not needed. Have you seen the standings lately?

Of course I follow the standings. 8.5 games up is very good. Now they have to put the heel on the throat. We have too many AL West head to head matches in September to be 'settled' for one win in the upcoming series.

Remember we still struggle with the Angels and to some degree the A's.

Thanks for the info, and honestly, I'm happy for him and hope he does well.

I wonder with this most recent problem with Jeffress, and if it turns into something even more harsh if this will effect that PTBNL?

I never realized JJ had the drug test issues. Guess I just never paid that much attention to him before we acquired him. Of course the Brewers owe us nothing in the case that the player made the poor choices and we knew of them when we acquired him.

That said if Jeffress was to fail another drug test this soon after the trade, I would hope that the Brewers would take that into consideration for the PTBNL. It would certainly go a long way towards negotiations between the teams going forward in the future. I was hoping for Thornburg for what the cost likely would have been between he and JJ, but was glad to add the BP arm. Now we wait to see the ultimate cost, and if JJ can get his life back in order

Colby making last rehab start tonite. if everything goes good he will be activated and start on the 4th in Houston moving Yu and Cole back a day and opening in Seattle. Bannister talking going with a 6-man rotation but personally i would drop Perez to the pen

I'm for giving Perez another start or two. I wouldn't want to screw with him at this point.

So far in this 22 game stretch without a break we are 4-2. I would like to see the home cooking continue and increase the lead before going back on the road. So a good start.

I'd be for him getting one more start.

And rather than us going to a 6 man rotation, maybe use Perez and Colby as one pitcher for Colby's first 2 starts. You know Lewis will be on a fairly low pitch count for at least one outing, so just plan on Perez being the long man, kind of like Colby's #2.

All of this is somewhat dependent on how Holland and Griffin continue to throw.

I actually like this idea.

I try to have one good idea a week, regardless if I need too or not.

But seriously, going to a 6 man rotation is nothing but a sure fire way to burn up the BP, and frankly we've got some guys, most notably Kela/Dyson, that are shaky already.

Gotta stay ahead of Toronto and Cleveland. Hate to have a playoff series in Toronto.
