MTSU should beat Minnesota.

I actually think both MTSU and Buffalo keep it close. We're adjusting to a new system under a new coach with a new QB. Plus we haven't been built to blowout teams. That combination of factors says to me that we're not going to be playing backups in any of our OOC games unless Oregon St. totally blows us out (which while I expect us to lose, I also expect to be close).

Agreed. It wasn't a slight towards Minnesota more just the rebuilding/starting with a new coach type deal. MTSU usually has some talented athletes and a pretty good system under rick stockstill the past 13 years.

Props to Purdue for playing 2 of 3 OOC games against other P5s. (Michigan's OOC is pretty good while only playing one P5. The G5s are pretty good.)

That said, it isn't real nice to a brand new coach. j/s

It's a schedule that will get them some positive hype, because only two teams are playing
a 1-AA. (Rutgers and Maryland and they should be playing 3 each)

That will shield them from only playing 13 games against Power 5 teams. (2 aren't playing
any P5 team...Illinois and Whisky. That could bite Whisky come playoff time)

Now PAC12 and Big12 are only playing 10 games against P5 opponents but P12 has 2 less
teams and the Big12 has 4 less teams.

SEC is playing 16 P5 teams, but 14 1-AA's. ACC is playing 22 P5 teams and 13 1-AA's.
8 schools in the ACC are playing 2 P5 teams apiece.

I don't really have an issue with playing a 1-AA, as long as it is played deep inside the schedule.
(6th week on). Use it as an open date is smart scheduling. If you open with the 1-AA's
all you're doing is padding the schedule for a win and it has no value to your team.
