That's a great one, and I believe might be Rolling Stone's pick as well. For some reason, I'm having a hard time considering it "rock," though. Since you're the OP and you say it qualifies, I'm good with it, and with that said, I'm partial to Bob Dylan's Blood on the Tracks, or The Beatles' Abbey Road.

"Rock" is such a broad and all-encompassing blanket definition of music genres and is subject to interpretation. Good luck.

Personally, I think bands like The Beach Boys and The Beatles are more "pop" than "rock".

Yeah, I was never a real Beatles fan especially pre acid dropping Beatles. The early stuff was all bubble gum garbage.
