You know...that is the exact response I get when I dismiss any non-Ozzy Sabbath material and I guess I just don't get it. Mob Rules did nothing for me and I certainly don't think it hangs with any of the halcyon material that Ozzy and company did with Sabbath.

I can understand your thinking, like you said earlier Sammy Hagar destroyed Van Halen yet some foolish people think Van Halen was better with Hagar which is obviously just ridiculous, I guess I just really like Dio and if Ozzy wasn't with Sabbath I didn't mind Dio was, Voodoo is one of my favorite tunes...

I guess if I had to pick a best of Sabbath sans Ozzy.....Zero The Hero...but I just consider Gillan, along with Dio, as afterthoughts.

It makes perfect sense. Black Sabbath IS the original Ozzy/Iommi/Butler/Ward......and everything after IMO is garbage in comparison.

Really? Heaven and Hell and The Mob Rules were great and Dehumanizer is probably the most underrated album. Overall I prefer Sabbath with Ozzy but they were still damn good with Dio.

Headless Cross is also damn good with Tony Martin on vocals. I know some will claim that Sabbath isn't Sabbath without Ozzy, but Iommi was the real heart and soul of that band.

I like Sabbath with Dio, but let's get real, Sabbath's first 6 albums are the greatest thing ever.

To each their own I guess. To me, Sabbath will always be the guys who created the stuff up until Technical Ecstasy. No other band 'sounded' like that....totally unique and badass all the way. That album (TE) and Never Say Die? Well...that distinct Sabbath sound died, and they became just another band to me...a band I had little interest in. Ozzy's departure permanently ended any chance of that original sound returning.

Same goes for Osbourne's solo career - dude's been backed by some talented musicians....but it ain't right.

Saw them open for Metallica in Dallas when they were touring "Mindcrime" and Metallica was touring "Justice". Still one of my all time favorite shows. Queensryche sounded spectacular as an opening act (played over an hour too) and Metallica was Metallica.

That mustve been a show for the ages
