Saw Queensryche about 8 years ago at some podunk venue in Idaho for like $25. Tate still nailed that screeching high note at the beginning of Take Hold of the Flame. Epic.

Saw them open for Metallica in Dallas when they were touring "Mindcrime" and Metallica was touring "Justice". Still one of my all time favorite shows. Queensryche sounded spectacular as an opening act (played over an hour too) and Metallica was Metallica.

Saw the same tour in CT. Metallica in the 'And Justice For All ' tour . They sucked on stage the both times I've seen them. Megadeth was far better

That's a shame. They were terrific down here for that show. Played damn near 3 hours and were "on".

Another guy that came to mind who doesn't get nearly as much respect as he should in the "iconic" department for heavy metal... Ian Gillan. Those albums with the Mark IV lineup still stand up to this day and he's every much a reason as Blackmore, Glover, Paice and Lord.

Among this list, it's Halford and then Dickinson and Dio battling for whatever place....after RH. Ozzy's voice meshed with Iommi's guitar about as well as anything in heavy music history, but he can't hang with vocally with someone like Halford.

As good as Dio was...I just think of him as the guy that killed Black Sabbath.

But about Ozzy and his VOICE, this is on point. As a frontman? Yeah. As a singer and a voice? No.

You know that makes zero sense right?

It makes perfect sense. Black Sabbath IS the original Ozzy/Iommi/Butler/Ward......and everything after IMO is garbage in comparison.

But Dio didn't fire Ozzy and someone had to replace him. To "blame" Dio for being that person is stupid.

Jeez...I know Dio wasn't personally to blame...it's just an expression on how I felt about the transition of the band in general.

Sammy Hagar killed Van Halen.

Capiche?
