This was the era when I fell in love with the Mounties as a young boy. Loved Galiffa… Marbury… Mills and Buggs. Loved them!

Thats when I cut my teeth too, BB, I went to my first Mountie game in 1971 or 72, and fell in love with WVU sports!! Always sad to see a fellow Mountie pass away.

It maybe just me, but I miss Old Mountaineer Field...just had a better football feeling than the current stadium...plus it was easier to sneak into the games!!

That old stadium was easy to sneak into. From 12-17, me and my buddies used to sneak in there on a regular basis.


It was an intimate place. The players remarked that the stands were so close to their sidelines, that they could not even warm up the QB without issues.


Players spoke often about the dirt floor in their weight room, and how small the locker room was.


It served its purpose, and provided this kid with a lifetime of memories....
