We had reportedly offered him a multi-year extension for $9 million a year before he became a free agent, and he turned it down.

He wound up getting less than that, a maximum of $8 million, from the Chiefs, and only for a one-year deal.

Looks like he gambled on himself, and lost, at least initially, though if he has a breakout season he will be a FA and will be able to cash in a year from now.

Yes, it was a big gamble. He could have stayed here for a long time. Maybe he will return ext year.

Liked Logan and what he brought to the team, but if this was the case, then good thing we didn't lock him in. He is not a $9M/yr player in the current scheme. Was a more effective player when he played the nose.

Logan lost money here. Now we goand try to sign Hankins who is younger and had better production than Logan.

Yeah, if these reports are true, and they apparently come from KC as well as Philly, I think the Eagles did the right thing by letting him go. You can't overpay everyone. They overpaid Ertz and Curry and can't keep doing that.

Maybe this is how they ended up blowing the Curry deal. Had originally penciled it in for Logan and when he declined they had some Dline money freed up for Curry. And bet on him developing as a 4-3 DE.

Yeah, hopefully Howie can move a few players (Kendricks, Kelce, Mathews [injury]), to free up the cap room to get Hankins.

Its weird to see all of these DTs/NTs move around.

Poe was a jack of all trades guy that maybe wore down. Logan seems more like a run stopping specialist. Both are basically gambling that they are more talented than their production from last year.

These types of moves are interesting because its possible that everyone wins. Certainly the Eagles giving Logan a huge contract or the Chiefs giving Poe a huge contract didnt make sense for either team.

He obviously would rather play on a winner.

Careful. I think you guys may be going backwards starting next season. How is that defense coming around?
I was just being objective and the Cowboys defense will be just fine. No need to get your undies in a bunch.

that's as friendly as things get with a cowgirl. ;) :p

I see their new quarterback is on his way to winning playoff games as well as Romo did. Just saying...

How many SB appearances since the cap era, when DAL couldn't buy it any longer?

With the lack of funds this offseason, you see the Eagles doing some combination of trading one gap for another and forward spending the cap.

Yes they made an interesting signing at Receiver, but they gave up Bennie Logan and Connor Barwin to get there.

The Foles thing is disturbing, not because of Foles, but because they are still paying Daniel as well, and had to structure the contract to essentially spend 2018 cap rather than 2017. Seems like a horrible decision to have to make to end up paying both of them. Suggests that they were seriously uncomfortable with keeping Daniel for 2017 for whatever reason.

But perhaps the biggest issue is they are now seriously short on defense at both Defensive Line and Corner. They need for several rookie to contribute right away and there likely is little depth at those positions. For a defensive philosophy that relies on line pressure and often puts its Corners one on one, it looks like it could be a tough year for the defense.

Premium... I thought you already said goodbye... that no one here would listen to you.. and you said your last good bye??? Are you incapable of staying away???

Oh and btw, in case you have not kept up with any draft news at all... this is considered a very deep CB draft.

DPD,

Are Jed York and Paraag Marthe are the real GMs in SF? Is Lynch is just a figure head? Why does everyone think so highly of a newly hired HC who couldn't properly devise a 6-minute offensive game-plan to win the Superbowl? Your other team has a lot more issues than the one you claim you are a fan of - please enlighten all of us with your wisdom on the state of the Niners instead.

DL and corner were already holes. Logan bet on himself and lost last offseason so he doubled down. Barwin didn't fit. And they found a better way to spend the money.

Now you can repeat my correct stuff to yourself in the mirror until it replaces all the wrong stuff already in your head. Good luck.:thumb:
