Beamer's wife injured in fall - ACC Blog - ESPN
It's been a dangerous May for the Beamer family, as both Frank and his wife, Cheryl, were injured in falls.
Cheryl Beamer was seriously injured earlier this week after tripping over a dog while carrying her grandchild at the couple's lake house near Greensboro, Ga. She broke her clavicle, six ribs and had rods placed in both legs. The coach canceled his Hokie Club events to be with his wife.
Earlier this month, Frank Beamer ruptured the distal tendon in his right bicep when he fell getting off the school's private plane at Virginia Tech Airport. It wasn't serious enough, though, for him to cancel his golf events.
"Oh my goodness," Frank Beamer said, according to the Roanoke Times. "A clumsy family is all I can tell you."
