I must say, this surprises me. I hope its not because Garapolo is too stupid to pick up the playbook. But good for Beathard; he deserves to start.

Beathard to remain 49ers' QB vs. Seahawks

From what I've read, Shanahan's offense is one of the most complex in the NFL. It took Matt Ryan a season to be completely comfortable in his offense. Shanahan has been working through the bye with Garapolo on learning the playbook. He has a set number of plays down if needs to come off the bench as a backup. I wouldn't be concerned. There is no need to rush him in. Plus Beathard earned another start after the Giants game

As bumbling as the 49ers front office and ownership has been, it would be fitting if they gave up the second rounder, never saw Garapolo play and lost hm to free agency.

Garappolo grasped the Patriot system, which is 'complex' as well. This is obviously more about Beathard and his play against the Giants, because there is no doubt JG could just walk in and play. I don't get too caught up in the 'complexity' issue anyways....it's football not quantum physics.

I think they will tag him before that happens

Sure Garapolo grasped the Patriots system. He has been there how many years? He has been on the 49ers for just a few weeks. And there is a report out there saying he doesn't have all the plays down yet.

That could be even worse. They find themselves forced to pay a guy 25 million, having never seen him play and god forbid he turns out to be a bust. With the Niners' luck, that would not surprise me.

Even if he plays a couple of games I m not sure it would change how they feel.

Hopefully Shanahan knows what he's doing because there is extremely little game film to go on.

Beathard may have played well enough against a shitty team to earn another start but at the end of the day you can't give up that kind of draft capital to sit the guy on the bench. This move really doesn't make a lot of sense to me and hopefully doesn't back fire on the team.

Ive never seen a professional football stadium this empty. What an embarrassment for this team. if I were the 49ers I would ask Fox not to pan to the crowd from a distance like they did at the beginning. Maybe a quarter full.

Didn't take advantage of the turnover; three and out.

Stopping the run but its child's play for Wilson back there on third and long; zero pass rush.

Bottom line is the 49ers need better players in the secondary
