I've been one of the biggest Cutler defenders around for years. Cutler will be a FA after the season. Are the Bears going to lock him up to a long-term deal? Or will they be dumb enough to let him go?

You don't know as much as you think you do. He's had horrible protection for most of his career. Put Brady behind the Bears OL and he doesn't do shit. You can pretend that having Brady is a non factor in your posting but it's disingenuous. The very reason the Pats lost in '07 is because the Giants were able to pressure Brady with their front 4. You should try and be objective and take all things into consideration before you down a guy.

His protection is not an excuse for his play. He makes bad decisions consistently even accounting for mediocre line play.


Brady would be fine despite the line. Forte out of the backfield takes a lot of pressure off a QB and he gets the ball where it needs to be very quickly. It's not that cutler hasn't had anything to work with. He has. He just fucks up consistently.
