Bradley Beal's sets Wiz rookie record for 3 pointers

with 76 so far this season, eclipsing Steve Blake's record from the '03-'04 season, in the Wizards home loss to the Knicks. Nene was out for a 2nd consecutive game (we really miss him when he's not there.. it's a whole different team).

If you haven't seen Beal's twitter, it's comprised mainly of these two blurbs:

Beal is going to be a really good player but I'm still shocked WSH refused to trade him for James Harden

This is where overpaying for someone like Rashard Lewis comes back to bite ya. The trade with the Hornets to get Trevor Ariza and Emeka Okafur for Lewis provides a little bit of stability on the court for the Wizards and a marginal effort to bring in some decent players for John Wall to work with. but was also an almost even swap in terms of salaries. The Wizard's cap space wasn't quite as open after that trade and taking on Harden's contract would likely have put Washington in a luxury tax penalty.

Ted Leonsis said the trade not going through wasn't over money, but I think part of it had to have been.

Of course. Of course! Nothing can ever be easy with this team. It's always gotta be the long trudge uphill, fighting against adversity. Atleast we might be getting a few players back.

Still.. just when they're starting to get in a flow, something like this rears it's ugly head. I hope it's nothing serious.. but I do hope the Wiz err on the side of caution.

lol.. let's face it. Everytime he gets a hangnail from here on out, we the fans are gonna have a collective inhaled breath ("He's not out for 4 weeks, is he?????).. lol.

Wondering if Beal's urgency to play "catch up" if his contributions are small or disrupting the flow of the game once he has to exit the game for good to limit his minutes will be a factor in the coming weeks.

Wizards basketball: Bradley Beal adjusting to limited minutes as he recovers from injury - The Washington Post

When Wall gave up the ball to Beal on his first game back and he nailed the game winner he cemented his place as the Wizards finisher, IMO

Not sure what the problem is, but obviously the minutes limit is going to affect the rhythm of the game. Beal has been shooting 38% since his return.

But the whole team looks out of sync. And there really is not another option at SG other then Temple, who is decent defensively ... but no production offensively.

The good news is Beal says he not in any kind of pain, so hopefully this short term funk will pay off in the long run once the restrictions are lifted.

Finished with a career high of 37, making five of seven three pointers and shooting 15-24 overall, to help offset a miserable scoring performance by Wall.
