I will never understand the affinity with Nunez/lack of patience with Rua combination from Rangers management this year.

could it be performance based in Rua case and the lack of any other choice in Nunez case

hopefully you're right about Nunez. wish they could find some way to keep IKF up but when Odor is reactivated they will keep Rua up for some reason and send IKF down

IKF will continue to get regular ABs in AAA which he needs, sitting on the bench 3 days a week at the ML level is doing him no favors

Except Rua has outperformed Nunez, even if its slight, so even that argument doesn't hold water

They have a choice, its Rua... so 0 for 2

I agree but indications are he is going to catch some. Wonder if he gets one shot before being sent down

He's an emergency catcher type, not even a good backup at this point, so save that development for AAA

neither is a choice. IKF brings more to the park than either of them.

You do realize Adrian Beltre is back? IKF would be going down because it doesn't make sense to park his ass on the ML bench and hinder his development

I know that IKF should probably get moved down to AAA but I hate seeing valuable spots on our 25 man roster being wasted with guys who are not producing like Nunez, our catchers and others (we have 7 position players hitting below .220)

Catchers are what catchers are, they usually aren't good hitters

Agreed about Nunez, but I'd rather have Nunez or Rua rot on the bench than IKF if thats whats going to happen

If IKF is going to play 3-4 times a week in a reserve/platoon role, then I'm all for it
