I have been thinking about it since the last trade deadline I think. This team's next window doesn't open for awhile. The better we do at the trade deadline the quicker the window opens. I am looking forward to when that next window opens.

Odor and then Beltre are going to be activated. We are going to have to send two down. What to do. I really like IKF getting developmental time but he would be used sparingly if kept at MLB level. Plus he could maybe catch some in AAA

Yes and no. Obviously we’re going to be sellers but it’s way too early to say what the landscape will be like and who we have that will have some value as trade pieces. Obviously I’m expecting to move some relievers, but that’s all I have right now.

Imo we’re two years away at minimum and that’s if we make some really smart moves the next two years. This trade deadline and winter is very important.

Agree. We are loaded with his type already. Adding more like that to the rotation is meaningless.

Of course it makes little sense to get him unless you can fix and flip quickly. Of course I think someone will trade lower tier guy I even if he clears and they pull back. Not going to be Rangers. Mets are going to be on the hook for most of the contract this year. Shown not to be focused. Probably just avoiding the pain of his decline. Sad

I’d like to point you guys to what the Yankees did a few years ago at the trade deadline. They were able to pretty much shorten their rebuild at the trading deadline a few years ago by sending most of their decent players to contenders for prospects.

JD and company should try to emulate that effort.

SPEAKING OF RAIN: I heard to today, over the past 8 games we've K'ed 116 times and walked 23 (not positive I got the W part correct, but it's in the neighborhood).

Not much. This is more the specialty IMO of A's and Rays. But I think it is all about finding valuable commodities. But player upheaval is not popular with the players. Sure you are being pragmatic as you should be. I deal with pipe dream theories at times

We do the shit out of it with relievers. Starters... not so much.
