That was from the 1971 {the 1970 season} Orange Bowl game, when Jerry Tagge stretched the ball over the endzone for the NC clinching TD against LSU. That was for NUs first NC ever.

I've got a set of place-mats with a picture of that play but it's a side shot.
My mom was going to pitch them about 20 years ago so I saved them from going to the dump.
They're in a box somewhere in the basement with some other old Husker memorabilia from that era.

My folks used to have some old Husker steins full of whiskey, but my brother opened them up and drank the whiskey years ago!
I hear those steins would be worth a good deal of money now if they were unopened.

I've got Johnny Rodgers red jersey and white jersey. He never came to a deal with the distillery so they never did fill them with booze. You bought them empty.
The fact someone has emptied the decanter and makes it worth less to a true collector is a myth from what I've heard. Some of mine still have the booze in them with the original unbroken seal though. I've heard keeping the booze in them can actually damage them.

Yeah, you're right. I forgot the proper name for those, so I just typed in steins!

We remember finding them empty with the seals broken, so my sisters and I knew right away who drank the stuff.

I may have to see how much those things are worth now.
