Series Thread: Athletics @ Mariners 9/1 - 9/3

Beginning of a 9 game home-stand against the Athletics, Astros and Angels.

I feel like every series thread I've said, "this is a big series" but if the Mariners don't get it together these next 9 games, they will definitely be out of the wildcard race. We're two under .500 and need to really step it up this home stand.

Luckily, this would be a great time for the Mariners to shit the bed and finally rip the bandaid off. Husky football starts Friday, and the Seahawks play their regular season opener next Sunday.

The Mariners really just trade for Verlander. Realistically with football starting, they may not draw more than 20k for a single game. At least they'd get two sellouts.

I don't know, so far it looks like they are starting all over after all the ridiculous contracts they gave out.

I don't think the Dodgers or Yankees would consider taking on all of that salary like the Mariners would. I don't think LA needs him and as strange as it is, I think the Yankees are being run well and sticking to a planned budget and are one or two years ahead of where they thought they'd be. But just my opinion is the Mariners need something to get fans into the park with these two home stands.

Don't like them moving Gaviglio and Bergman. They deserved better. They were replaced by lesser pitchers. Hopefully Gaviglio will make the Royals playoff roster.
