Series Thread: @ Astros for the final road series

Goes without saying how important this series is.
We got Kuma, Felix and Paxton going this series. I like our chances with those 3 guys. Kuma is coming off that ugly game against the Blue Jays hoping for a nice bounce back. Felix was good his last start but sucked in the game previous which happens to have been against the Astros. Paxton has been really good lately hope he can keep it up.

2.5 back with 7 to play. The loser of this series will be on the verge of mathematical elimination, depending on what the Orioles & Tigers do. Both of those teams have tough opponents, too. Orioles vs Blue Jays, and Tigers vs Indians. The schedule definitely is in our favor, but it won't mean a whole lot unless the team goes out and gets the Ws.

We are 6-11 vs Houston this year, so need to perform a lot better than that. Hard to see us getting in with anything fewer than 5 wins out of these last 7. The Orioles have 85 wins and 6 games remaining. If they go 4-2, we have to win out just to tie them. Gonna be tough. And exciting.

I know it's way early, but so far the feel of the game is definitely that the Ms came to play. Only 1-0, hopefully will add more soon in support of Kuma.

Cano did what superstars do with the season on the line. In what felt like an elimination game he carried them. Maybe this loss will be the final gut punch for the Astros and they will come out flat tommorrow. Felix gets another shot to pitch in an important game tommorrow

He gave up a home run in a hostile environment (which is ridiculous to say since it was a home game, but still true) to a guy who hits a lot of home runs, but he buckled down after that to get two very big outs to keep that game tied and give the M's the chance to win it in extras. Today was really the worst he's looked in about a month. He seemed reluctant to throw his fastball, even when his slider clearly wasn't working. I imagine he'll get another chance to pitch in this series and I think he'll be much better then.

LOL! I recorded the debates while watching the M's live, and thank god I did. After I calmed down from the M's game I fired up the debates, but could only make it a third of the way before turning it off. It really is a joke what is going on in politics right now, but thankfully we have a baseball team that decided to entertain us into late September.

I also just heard on the broadcast a few minutes ago that David Ortiz would have to get on base 658 more times in these last few games without recording an out in order to pass Edgar Martinez for career OBP. That means 2 things: 1) Ortiz has had a really long career and 2) Edgar's OBP is ridiculous.
