As a Tennessee fan why should I be excited by the season?

Most people are saying that it would be a HUGE Achievement to win 6 games. Once again we have the great gauntlet middle schedule with:

Florida, @ Georgia, Auburn, @ Alabama, and @ South Carolina

Lovely. What do I have to be even excited about? Why do I even watch college football?

Seeing the checkered endzones is pretty neat. And Good Ole Rocky Top will be flowing through the stadium against ETSU and UTEP, at least.

New coach. New staff. Clean slate.

Interested to see how the QB situation plays out with the Stanford transfer, Keller Chryst, and also how the new offense will look. I mean there's not a ton to look forward to wins wise, but it'd be hard to do worse than 4-8.

Plus it's college football, so while Tennessee might not be great, the season as a whole is always special. Gonna be a lot of great games and special moments.

Outside of just being excited by CFB returning and the chance of anything being technically possible, you can look forward to the next chapter in the transition.

Watching young players show promise, despite showing their inexperience at times, with a moment or two of future expectations.

Out with the old coach and hope for a return to the national conversation in November. Even if that means the team ends up with 2-3 losses (think of Miami - granted, they did do better than 4 wins over their struggles, but look to have turned it around to be in the conversation).

With lowered expectations comes excitement when you put other teams on upset alert. Imagine if you were tied in the 4th quarter at UGA or at Bama; you know you'd be at the edge of your seat. Granted, if you're down 3 TDs at half, you can turn it off, but there is always that chance going into each game.

Excited to prove the experts wrong and make a bowl game before the last game of the season.
