Not impressed with his shooting percentage, but Westbrook has 6 triple doubles in a row on a winning team. Yes, he has the ball all the time, but still impressive. He's 5 assists and 5 rebounds total away from 14 straight triple doubles (4 assists short of 13 in a row).

Giannis Antetokounmpo was shocked to find out how good his coach Jason Kidd was as a player

The first time Kidd benched him, Antetokounmpo was irate. “I was like, ‘Let’s see what this guy did in his career, anyway,’ ”

Antetokounmpo recounts, and called up Kidd’s bio on his phone. “I saw Rookie of the Year, NBA championship, USA Olympic gold medal, second in assists, fifth in made threes, blah, blah, blah.

I was like, ‘Jesus freaking Christ, how can I compete with that? I better zip it.’”

Did ESPN pull a Sterling?
A few years ago, Sterling celebrated Black History Month during a March home game. February is Black History Month.

The Clippers celebrate Black History Month in the wrong month

ESPN/NBA TV/ABC/TNT has always had a MLK Jr. home game in Memphis (where MLK Jr. was shot). They always do a halftime or pre-game on-court ceremony.

I try to watch the Memphis game every year, for that.

This year, I noticed ESPN is doing the MLK Jr. game . . . on Sunday. There is only one MLK Jr. day, it's always the 3rd Monday of January.

Is it right to do it on the wrong day?

I know Memphis doesn't have the best ratings right now, but that hasn't stopped the networks from airing the Memphis home game any other year. Sure, sometimes it's been at a crappy time, like 10AM PST, or in 2014, it was on NBA TV, but it was on the right day at least.

Thoughts?

There's a chance that Portland-Memphis was on NBA TV. I can't find out if they did games that day. But in terms of timing, their game would have been at 2PM PST, which sets up perfectly for the following TNT double header.

Boston at Philadelphia, 4:30 p.m. (TNT)

L.A. Clippers at L.A. Lakers, 7:00 p.m. (TNT)

So you have to go back to 2002-2003 for the last time the Memphis home game wasn't on national TV, and even then, I think there's a chance it was on NBA TV. But, it was still on the right day.

The benefit of having it on Sunday this year is that it's in prime time, so more exposure. But, it's also on a football playoffs Sunday.

When I was reading about schedules from past years, there were some years the NBA decided to have no games on NFL conference championship day.

Even though this isn't the week for the conference championships, the Grizzlies game will still suffer from viewership, since it's on a Sunday vs. Monday.

So I take it back, there isn't a benefit of going on Sunday.

I liked it? Must have been a slip of the finger when I was holding my little one. I like a lot of your posts, but not usually enough on just informational ones to press 'like'. But that was helpful for those others that are reading.

That makes it a great "like".

And if she was the one that actually pressed the button, then it's a super "like"!

@MHSL82 might like this quote.

"A lot of the guys today, they get it mixed up, they say they're a 'good passer'. But there's a difference between a 'good passer' and a willing passer. I was a willing passer. I studied the game. I know what the score was. I knew who needed the ball, and when.

The guys today, they say they're going to get 30, and they end up getting 10, that's just the way it is."
