Grant had a really good article over at the Athletic. Heres a summary of the eight guys eligible, and what MLBTR projects as their salaries:

Brebbia: $1M
Casali: $2M
Dickerson: $3M
Garcia: $1.8M
Leone: $1.5M
Ruf: $2.6M
Slater: $2M
Yaz: $3.1M

I agree with his predictions:
Gone - Brebbia, Dick
Offered -- everyone else, but likely a deal reached with Yaz to buy out his next two arb years (3/15?).

Most interesting will be Casali. If he's offered arb, the Giants are probably looking to trade Bart. If they decline arb with Babe, Joey is going to be the backup catcher.

I can’t imagine they let Babe walk. Sure, he has no bat at all, but be is Posey-level in how he manages the staff. I think you can live in a world with Posey, Casali and Bart all on the roster together.

And I am not 100% that Posey will be back. I get the sense he is seriously considering retirement.

As for Brebbia, I will trust whatever the Giants decide to do. He has a really good track record and is super cheap. But not EVERYONE recovers from TJ.

Is that from anything you've read or just a gut level feeling?

It has been talked about on KNBR. But that is more their gut feelings. But my gut is there is a 30-40% chance he hangs it up. Though maybe he plays out the option THEN retires…

If FZ and company want him back (I am sure they do), they need to pitch his HOF chances. As it sits right now, he is on the fence. If he were able to put up 1 more all star level season with a couple more OK years, then he starts to have arguments against the longevity crowd.

The question is, does he really care about the HOF?
