Sure, but it hasn't been 3 years yet (what has it been, 1 year since he made that declaration?).

I would fire him now as vice-president of basketball operations, but they need a strong, experienced basketball mind to replace him, which could be tough to find, unless they're going to elevate Mitch to that position. They haven't trusted him to make his own decisions since Dr Buss passed to this point however.
