Looks like the refs made a mistake because VCU passed the ball out and shot it just as the buzzer went off. The refs called a T on the fans after the buzzer. If anything that should've been the game. But in the end the fans were fucking morons.

This needs to be addressed by the NCAA. Court storming is dangerous. I've said it many times before. In this case it cost SBU a game. All schools need security in place to protect officials, players, and teams visiting as well as home crowds.

In the game at the dome yesterday, SU fans stormed the court with 9 seconds remaining on the clock. And a student grabbed the ball and went in for a pretty layup. The officials cleared the court. After a review the officials counted the bucket. Possession back to va down by 4.

After the FSU game and SU fans stormed the court, JB was good with it. Said their kids, let them have some fun.

But I have seen students actually swing on players. Which I think is dumb. Swinging on a D1 athlete is asking for a serious beatdown.

I'm all for fun. Don't get me wrong. But this is asking for a disaster by not having restrictions on coming onto the floor. Same thing at football games. Fans rushing the field is another opportunity for the lunatics.

When Marquette beat Nova. You can see one ref clearly raise his hand to call a foul on nova but the students stormed that court in masses and eventually you see him just say fuck it.

Luckily in that case it 1. Wasn't even a foul and 2. Even if Hauser missed one of the free throws Nova woulda have had to make a 80 foot shot.

I agree, it's dumb to storm the court and not even warranted 99.9% of the time. Stupid fuckin kids.

It's about time a tech is actually called in this situation. I feel no sympathy.

Remember when storming the court/field was reserved for beating the number 1 team? Now we are storming the court after every win. It's embarrassing

On the surface I feel like @The Derski said. But like @Great Dayne said, it was also a mistake by the refs.

I remember back to when ASU upset AZ in McKale North and the fans rushed the court. The tech wasn't called because it was before the ball was inbounded (unlike the Bonny/VCU game). The refs held the ball so ASU wasn't punished at all. So is the answer just that the ref needs to hold the ball? Because then they're just giving the fans the opportunity to rush w/o the tech as punishment.

That can't be the answer, right? That's like a Catch-22.

But then the conference can still fine them of it's a rule in the conference? So is that the only punishment if the refs hold the ball if they anticipate a rush?
