Any doubt PG-13 is in LA next summer?

There is still an outside chance the C's get PG around draft time. There would have to be a negotiated extension involved there.

That falls through.... yeah, he's going to LA.

Lakers would have been stupid to do that trade now when they need to lose and get another top three draft pick. But I think he will be a Lakers this summern for. The Lakers will have to find takers for Brewer and Young if they want a comfortable surplus for a big agent. You wouldn't want to wait til he is a free agent because he might get a sweet deal somewhere that would change his mind

This is exactly why I like what NOLA did vs. What Indy and OKC did.

Get the guy some legitimate help BEFORE he gets to the point of no return.

Yes, Cousins is a risk. But, it's better than sitting on your hands collecting "assets".

The Thunder learned that lesson to late.

Indy and any other team trading for George won't have the financial advantage of a Designated player deal because he doesn't qualify unless he makes All NBA. I can reasonably name 6 forwards having a better year.

So, if the money is the same, he's bolting to the Lakers.

You didn't get @WiggyRuss memo.
No player will leave big money on the table to switch teams.

Think about this: If the Lakers had given Sacramento Ingram and dumped Mozgov or Deng to equal the salaries and then picked up PG today or the summary would there be any doubt about free agents being interested?

Well, sure...

But, I'm not sure how that scenario would be possible.

The assets that you would have to give up for Boogie are the same ones you'd have to give up to get George.

Boston offered both first rounders and players.

Larry gave them the :finger2:.

I also don't see a scenario where Sacto takes Mosgov nor Deng.

Lakers not in position to trade now. They need to lose and get that top three pick and if they gave up Ingram but kept Russell when trading for Cousins then they would have had something for PG or wait one more year til he's a free agent

If everything being reported is true, it looks like there are only 3 things likely to happen:

1.) The Pacers surround him with teammates good enough to contend.
2.) He goes to the Lakers this summer via trade.
3.) He goes to the Lakers in the summer of 2018 via FA.

Magic and Larry are old rivals and close friends. It'll be interesting to see if they try to "beat each other" again or if they'll try to help each other out because of their friendship.

I'm betting they compete and try to best one another. Could be fun.

Actually, they are in position to trade if they are willing to gut the young core they have. Fortunately, they're smarter than that (so far).

You know I was just thinking about that and said to myself that they need to wait one more year In 2018 these players are gonna be good and worth more. If we get another draft pick this summer that is going to even better. In spite Of the screw ups by Mitch and Buss the team is headed in the right direction

Another option for this summer is the Lakers may be able to package one or even both of their picks (assuming the keep their lottery pick) and 1 young guy to get him. This would allow them to get PG without gutting the young core.

Actually i don't see any scenario where any one takes either one of those two in the next three summers but if Magic were to find one high on crack then he could get lucky
