Andy Murray is still Wimbledon’s champion feminist player. Feminist male player.

he is.

I also didn't realize he was pushing for equal purses for men and women winning tournaments with both men's and women's draws. Good for him, because he is right.

Tennis is probably the closest in terms of viewership between men's and women's sides of the sport. They deserve equal winnings.

The money is the same at the majors, right?

Andy made a quip that I don't have any problem with, but the context was clearly referring to Male Singles players. Andy's comment ignores doubles and juniors players as well.

And as far as equal pay, the men play more sets at a higher quality with more viewers. I wouldn't have an issue with it if it was like the NBA where everyone on the circuit made a fortune, but when guys in the 100-150 range are barely making a decent living and guys outside the top 200 are literally losing money, it's clear that tennis isn't flowing in cash. Maybe equal pay brings in more fans and it makes economic sense but it seems fundamentally unfair to me.
