Andrew Gardner Signed To Contract Extension - Birds 24/7
Gardner is now under contract through 2018, as ESPN’s Adam Caplan first reported. The deal has a base value of $4.7 million, including a $500,000 signing bonus, according to Ian Rapoport. The NFL Network reporter added that “incentives bring it much higher.”
Gardner earned the starting right job this summer after beating out Matt Tobin and John Moffitt, among others. According to center Jason Kelce, Gardner separated himself because of his chemistry, communication and consistency.
"At all times, he knows what's going on around him, he knows what his responsibility is, he knows what his job is and he gets his job done," Kelce said. "This year, he's really done a much better job knowing that he's preparing for that right guard position. He's done a great job for us."
