This, of course, avoids having to pay a premium for the consensus #1 QB

I'm going to guess that JE is not wanting to be patient - he will try and get a guy through trade or as a free agent - to fill the QB need. You don't want to waste a defense that is championship level - while you spend three years developing a QB. If that's the case and a QB doesn't have to be one of the top 2 or 3 QBs in the draft (the guy you fall in love with) will be there later. I'd see if I saw any LT's with top tier talent as the first thing I would look for - move Bolles over to RT.​

I think there is something wobbly about Darnold and Rosen as NFL prospects - but I think Saquon Barkley would let and pretty good QB look like a better QB (just look at Dak Prescott's numbers). A top runner always keeps a defense on hits heals and makes the passing game more effective.

I think Rosen is my overall favorite in terms of tools/upside etc, but really my personal favorite is Rudolph. I am higher on him then a lot of people though. Rudolph has great tools to work with as well. Like any QB needs time to develop.

But any QB makes me nervous with our inability to develop QB's right now.

Could also be the fact that we have sorta drafted trash QB's too though. More our inability to draft good QB's then develop perhaps?

If the Colts are not willing to trade Luck what about Brissett? Not ideal but played reasonably well this year, and allows us to spend FA dollars elsewhere.

@CEH I have seen Connor Williams drop significantly in some mocks, but the most recent that I have seen have him going in the upper part of the first round. The draft is months away though. As it gets closer there is a combo mock over at SB Nation every year with decent info.
