Austin understood that a defensive tackles primary role is controlling his gaps and not being a pass rusher. Unfortunately for Austin and us we lost all our talent in the middle and were back to sucking again. Even with Slay and Ziggy having there best seasons. It just goes to show how important it is to "build your defense from the inside out"

Suh is heading into the fourth year of a six-year, $114 million mega-deal and is set to count a whopping $26.1 million against the Dolphins' salary cap. That's almost $9 million more than the next-closest defensive tackle. Suh just turned 31 last month but remains a legitimate game-wrecking force inside. However, the Dolphins need a lot more than Suh before they start competing for Super Bowls. Designating Suh a post-June 1 cut would save Miami $17 million versus the cap. Rumor is Suh will return home to the Lions where he single handedly helped DC Teryl Austin earn 13 Rooney Rule interviews over the years.

He will go to the highest bidder most likely. Certainly would be nice to get him back but I think it is more wishful thinking.

I remember we said that when 20% of the entire cap was used on him. I also know that the team that signed Suh after us also had to cut him because his contract was too big.

Now that he is making less than 4% of the cap I am not shocked he is on a winner.

I suppose congrats on the this post that proves everyone else was right.
