Gallo needs to go to round rock and let Rua play left. Try to tell you guys about attitude the other day.

When you strikeout, the shift had little to do with it.
Haha! You got that right. Made me think when our announcers mention that Gallo has hit into so few DP'S. Same reason for that. Hard to hit into DP's if you are striking out.

Haven't heard that on Calhoun.

He had some attitude issues awhile back, but seemed to straighten himself out. Not coincidentally, that was around the time he came out of his slump.

Right. He is hitting over .300 now. I am sure the disappointment of still being in the minors played into that.

Really hoping Choo gets traded so he can come up and play daily. Bet he bets high in the order. Also, Tocci could DL and we could wait until September to bring him up.
More roster spots to open up can come soon enough for me.

If we only move Choo and Hamels and a reliever for talent it would be a win IMO even if we keep Beltre and TB

Diekman is a goner.

They will take whatever is offered for him, because he’s an expiring contract

Meaning we probably won’t get much for him. At this point, take what you can get. Choo is the one who might bring back prospects if we eat enough salary.

He’s just as likely to be thrown in to a hamels or Choo trade to sweeten the pot.

This might be the best way to make something work for us, but I'm not so sure the rest of baseball is real interested in doing us any favors.

5 biggest developments in the first half of the Rangers' season, including Rougned Odor's overnight maturation

This about Odor from the article above:

It took a village of people - and perhaps a direct threat to his playing time and place on the major league roster - to reach Rougned Odor, but he’s looked like a changed man for the last month. Perhaps the final turning point was a benching for breaking curfew in Kansas City in mid-June.

It’s going to take longer to determine if this is just a “phase,” or if Odor matured overnight.

But since the benching, he hit .282/.371./.513./.884 over the final 22 games before the All-Star break. He’s bunted for hits. He has walked in eight percent of his at-bats (vs. five percent from the start of 2017 through mid-June). He has stolen four bases in five attempts.

Just as impressive: He has played exceptional defense for an even longer stretch. He has regularly worked early and purposefully with instructor Tony Beasley. It included a career-best 41-game errorless streak, the longest of his career. At the All-Star break, Odor has the fourth-best defensive WAR among all second baseman and the fifth-best defensive runs saved total, according to fangraphs.

Now, the Rangers wait for struggling Joey Gallo to have a similar moment of self-realization.

I understand.

I think we all believe that someone will take hamels and diekman off our hands for sure.

We’re hopeful that someone will want Choo with the rangers chipping in a lot of money if necessary.

The main question is how big or good the return will be?
