I feel sorry for you, the Monday Night Wars was a GREAT time to be a wrestling fan. It all went down hill when WCW folded.

Funny thing. That is what I was allowed to watch(WCW).

My parents believed that the WWE was to Adult orientated for their 13 YO son( November of 1997).

They allowed WCW. That is where my love for Chris Benoit comes in.

They started to give up in August 2000( have bit memories of going to the theatre downtown* for Summerslam.) Before giving up completely in June of 2001.

* is for in one brand of Canadian theatres (Was Famous players Silvercity now Cineplex Silvercity) used to show PPVs but that tapered down to the big 4. A couple years ago it became just Wrestlemania

I've been enjoying the Ten Pounds of Gold series since the Tim Storm days but this is the first time it's actually been relevant to a board topic so I'll post that clip here..

Since I don't see a NJPW thread, I'll ask this here: How was the Omega-Okada match the other night compared to the one that they had last year?

Haven't watched it personally but from what I've read, the best one yet. Apparently, and its no surprise, Dave Meltzer jizzed all over himself watching it so I'm expecting 7 out of 5 stars

The match they had at last year's Dominion show is well worth trying to go out of your way to watch in my opinion. If it's better than that, than it'll definitely be one of the best, if not the best, match I've ever seen.

I watched tonight it. It's worth the reaction it got. The match was pretty much like their other matches, which isn't a knock on it. Just that it they hit their level of excellence again. Plus they wrestled each other for over an hour. That's damn impressive.

I thought the Jericho/Naito match was pretty good as well. Nasty R-rated Jericho is a lot of fun.

Definitely going to check it out soon. If it's as good as or better than the match last year, I'm in for a treat. Jericho and Naito was also good. What was a lot of fun was watching Suzuki and Ishii beating the holy hell out of each other. I'd love to watch those two guys have a 15-20 minute match if that was any indication of what it'd be like.
And also, I enjoy listening to Kevin Kelly and Don Callis on commentary. They seem to have good chemistry with each other.

Just finished watching the Omega-Okada match and damn were they able to put on another fantastic performance. 2018 has had a lot of great matches but I think it'll be very hard to top this one as match of the year.

They announced today that it will be broadcast. No further details though. It could be live or it could be taped and shown later. No one knows yet other than the fact that if you can't go, you will have a chance to see it in some fashion

This would be huge if it happens. Also I know there was disagreement when I argued in favor of the time being right for a second major wrestling company but I think this could be a good litmus test.

I saw the tweet that the rumor is based on and I can't tell if the guy means WGN in Chicago or WGN America. They are two different channels, the former not being broadcast anywhere except the Chicago area.
