Yep. Nobody wanted him. Joey bats. That's why cleveland didn't sign him nut sack lick iffy. You don't need a shine box to polish up nuts.

Why didn't anyone want him, doug? I looked at all the angles....can't see a reason why a bunch of teams couldn't use him. (BTW...YOU said Cleveland was going to sign him...why did you think so?)

I would just assume any player would want to go in the Hall with the Ole English D on their hat. I mean, who wouldn't?

His best steroid years were in Texas.

So many choices...
No doubt. I looked up and saw he only had one year with the Marlins, but it ended with a ring. Would be funny if that trumped years of accrued stats with TX.

No doubt in my mind. Bagwell too. If the writers wanted PEDs out by keeping Bonds and Clemens out, they failed. But the old school seems to be getting swept out in that aspect.
Considering that Clemens and Bonds got 54.1% and 53.8% respectively this time around, it's only a matter of time before they're voted in. Fewer than five years? I think so.

Agreed, the older voters don't want to keep up the fight, the middle aged voters are changing their minds and the younger voters never were trying to keep them out.

I lost interest in the HOF years ago when it became clear that it was nothing more than a publicity stunt for MLB and a small quaint town in New York. It has gotten to the point where you KNOW someone (and usually several) will be inducted every year. No offense to guys like Bagwell, Raines, and Pudge....but including them in the same "hall" as Ruth, Cobb, Aaron, Mantle, Williams, Koufax, Walter (or Randy) Johnson...makes no sense. Perhaps a separate "Hall of Good"? But that wouldn't solve the problem of, "My Hero is better than your hero."..would it?

And yes....I don't really care if Bonds, Clemens, Sosa, McGriff, K-Rod, or Rose are put in the HOF. Well, maybe Rose...he is an a-hole. LOL
