you know whats funny... even with you posting that number confirming that the Tigers are not the oldest team in the Central... da55bums will come on here later today and make up some BS statement to wiggle out of his attempted insult on the Tigers... Thats going to happen. He will NEVER admit he was wrong. There will be a fine excuse a brewin'.

I feel like the Royals could still stand to add a quality arm to the rotation but keep missing out on names they are rumored to be attached to. The latest is Mat Latos. I don't know shit about him other than he sucked last year.

Also, as it stands, the Royals look to fill RF with a platoon of Dyson and Orlando... not sure if I like this or not. I love Dyson but he can't hit left handed pitching.

Mat latos is a great buy low option... The guy was a stud for about 4 years before last year and he is still young. Who signed him?

Still out there, I believe. Royals reportedly considering him, but not sure who their competition for him would be.
*looks like other smaller market teams- Pirates, Orioles, Brewers, Rays

I would rather have Latos over Kennedy any day.. the ceiling is much higher with Latos.. and the floor is about the same. Plus Latos won't cost a draft pick or multiple years.

i didn't use days clown.. you did...

AL Central 40-Man Rosters by average age

KCR - 27.8
DET - 27.7
CLE - 27.1
MIN - 27.0
CHW - 26.3

oh i can guarantee.. if you take all the players on the 40 man roster of the tigers it ends up at an even 27 yrs of age... which actually makes them the youngest team in the division.

Tigers' average age is 27.7, not an "even 27." Even if you round down to years and use that, their average is 27.25, which is also not an "even 27."

Tigers' are the second oldest team in the division, which is not "the youngest."

The White Sox at 26.3 average age, are the youngest in the division, almost a year and a half younger than the Tigers.

Your math by hand and your guarantees suck balls.

Funny thing is, it looks as if I'm defending Bums. Lest there be any confusion, I'm not. He'll be on here later with some worthless bullshit that's every bit as derptastic as Vice's.

Here's hoping we won't have to scroll through five pages of petty fighting every day (which no one but the two people involved gives a rat's ass about) to get to some genuine baseball talk this year.

GO TIGERS !!!!

Latos was a somewhat highly touted prospect. Big, hard thrower who got a lot of Ks in the minors. Has had some success in the NL (prior to last year 952 IP, 3.34 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, 113 ERA+), but as you said, sucked it up last year. That's about all I've got.

Generally speaking, I'm not a lover of platoons, but teams have to make due with what they've got and I understand that they're necessary some times.

Would he be platooned out against lefties, I'm assuming? That's typically only about a third of MLB pitches, so maybe you'd have him 60-70% of the time.

As a topical homage to the late David Bowie, and in memoriam of the Tigers' run of being a perennial contender, I present:

Yeah, the idea I've been hearing is that he would get 100+ starts this year, for the first time in his career. And also get used to give Gordo or Cain a day off as needed.

Having him in the NL West, first with the Padres for a few years, then back in LA for parts of last year, I can tell you that he is talented but is a prick of a teammate. He was told by the Dodgers to not show up after he pouted about being sent to the pen for sucking more then a Hoover. He's a low risk/high reward player if you bought him low. The caveat is that he is worth the investment if the contract is extremely low. Otherwise, IMO, he's a potential cancer that I wouldn't want to have around a Championship team.

MLB Power Rankings: Early Predictions For 2016

The AL Central should see the Tigers come back to the contention fold for 2016 with their recent revamped Bullpen and also signing Jordan Zimmermann. They are by far the oldest team in the AL Central, so they need to stay healthy.

I suggest avoiding that website, bums. I followed the link and kicked around the site for a while. There's quite a bit of inconsistencies, inaccuracies and shitty writing.

I am sure like most he is going with Active rosters that play the season

Tigers 28.88 projected opening day roster
